Canadian Bad Boys

Gdansk Poland 2000

Bill and his colleagues from the Discovery Channel series Oceans of Mystery were hired to go to Gdansk (Dansig) Poland and sail a large catamaran (120'x60') home to Barbados. When the ship was held up for mechanical reasons, they were stranded for six weeks with nothing to do. So, together Bill, John Rosborough and Dave Gaudet started a band "The Canadian Bad Boys" and became popular around town.  The enjoyed access to private "members only" underground clubs, being from the talk of the town visiting catamaran"Catalina" and experienced the youthful energy music can bring out in young people . Their "Born To Be Wild" - "Brown Eyed Girl" set list had the young people, who were starved for all things USA, dancing in the isles. To  complete the illusion, costumes of leather pants and silk shirts were acquired from a weekend sojourn to one of Berlin's downtown flee markets.  Fun to be rock stars for a few weeks.

Some pictures of the Canadian Bad Boys in action. Also, the Catalina which at the time was purported to be the largest catamaran in the world. In the end, together with its original oil paintings in the bedrooms, shipwrecked off the coast of Spain. Luckily the Canadian Bad Boys were not on board.
